A lot of celebrities, especially ones that most people idolize, are dying from mixing prescription drugs.
Most recently, DJ AM, who survived a plane crash last year with Travis Barker, died from a drug overdose. The New York Daily News reported that investigators found crack cocaine, a glass crack pipe and at least seven bottles of prescription drugs on his kitchen counter, including the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, which he took for his fear from the plane crash.
In June, Michael Jackson also died from a drug overdose. He took a dose of Propofol, which outside of the hospital can be very suspicious. The effects of Propofol can be compounded in a person's body if mixed with other medications. This is what happened to Michael Jackson as he took other medicines along with the Propofol for his insomnia.
One of the earliest cases of this was in early 2008. Talented actor, Heath Ledger also passed away from a mix of Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Diazepam, Temazepam, Alprazolam and Doxylamine. These were prescribed to him for insomnia, anxiety, depression, pain and a possible cold.
As I read these stories over and over again, I realized that a lot of today's celebrities are overdosing on medications and doing illegal drugs. From those drug addictions, the average age of a celebrity going to rehab has sharply decreased.
For the overdosing, I believe that the doctors of the celebrities prescribe their clients with lethal doses of medication just to please their clients' requests. However, the clients may not know the seriousness of mixing these drugs and their true effects when combined with others. It should be the responsibility of the doctors to check the active ingredients and make sure their client is not mixing a lethal cocktail of prescription drugs.
As I see, a lot of these celebrities overdose on prescription drugs to hide a horrible childhood, fix the stress in their lives, or to keep up with their fame. I do not understand why a celebrity does keep their fame game up by doing drugs, but this seems to be the deadly trend.
